The Fossicks are flying the flag of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Four mates from Sydney’s west, the band channels the best of 70s glam crossed with 90s rhythms, and a heap of 80s funk for good measure.
Meeting at TAFE, with shared appreciation for the Foos, Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys and the gods Kiss and Sabbath, the four friends initially started as a TAFE band 'Flaccid Mohawk'. A few line-up changes led Jacob Douglas to complete the line‐up, for them as The Fossicks.
Releasing the Silk Road EP and with gigs up and down the east coast, the band began 2016 by holing up at Sky Valley Studios in NSW Blue Mountains to record an album for release in 2017. Handing the goods over to renowned blues/rock artist Claude Hay to mix. After that the band worked with European mastering artist Andy Becker to achieve the finished sound.
With the combination of Jack’s ripping guitar solos, front-man David’s soaring vocals, KJ’s funky bass back-bone and Jacob’s lock-solid rhythms, The Fossicks bring every golden era of rock into one formidable palette, and a sound all their own.
